Maps From the Guy Who Thinks "Horny" is One of the 7 Dwarves

You know how some maps have bazillions of brushes, and most of the brushes are useless? No? Well, RPGSP1 was like that. 3457 brushes. What, you don't know what a brush is, and all this is completely meaningless to you? Hmm, I'll have to try to fix that.

Levels in Quake are made using brushes. A brush is a convex solid (as opposed to a concave solid). The authour then creates brushes to form rooms and other objects. You can manipulate the brushes by cutting them up, making them bigger, dragging edges or vertices, and many other things, providing the brush is still convex after the operation is complete.

Well anyway, not so long ago Aardappel held a contest where the level designers were limited to using only 100 brushes. (Keep in mind that most maps have 2000 or more brushes.) Since then there have been two more 100 brush contests; the second run by XeNoN and the third run by GrindSpire. I decided to make a map for the third competition, and so RPG100B1 was born.

This map is mostly natural terrain, but there are a few stone structures too. There's at least a little water in almost all the rooms, so it's also a bit aquatic. The map also features 59 monsters on hard skill, and it has unique and interesting character. Try it!

What They said:
"This map is huge for it's 100 brushes, giving Aard's Secret Castle a good run for its money. Map layout is very nice... Gameply is very good on normal skill, with a nice not too steep incline in skill. Very good map." -- czg
"Nice use of l33t. ;)" -- CardO
"Gameplay and especially messages are very fun. =) I enjoyed your map very much." -- Vondur
